Volviendo a estudiar
Hace unas semanas empezó el curso de Software-As-A-Service, uno de los que las Universidades de Berkeley y Stanford ofrecían gratuitamente por Internet. (https://www.coursera.org/)
Me apunté a éste y a otro de Human-Computer-Interaction, que no ha empezado todavía.
El de SAAS me está resultando muy muy interesante. Las prácticas se basan en Ruby on Rails, pero lo interesante es la cantidad de herramientas que te enseña. No sólo de Ruby, sino de programación y de ofrecer servicios “en la nube”. Te hace trabajar con GitHub, Heroku, Amazon EC2,… y no hemos hecho nada más que empezar.
El curso se imparte mediante unos vídeos, de unos 10 minutos de duración, que coinciden con los capítulos de un libro que han editado (aunque el libro no es obligatorio comprarlo para hacer el curso, viene muy bien). Cada semana se ven unos 8 o 10 vídeos. Este curso se impartió “en vivo” en la universidad, y el audio de los vídeos son las grabaciones de esas clases. Lo que se ve son las transparencias “tipo powerpoint” que el profesor iba poniendo, y lo que iba proyectando (editando algo de código, viendo el resultado en el navegador, etc). Me habría gustado ver de vez en cuando al profesor dando la explicación.
Nos mandan unos “deberes” cada semana, para los que tienes que enviar los ficheros con tu respuesta a un formulario online, y se corrigen automáticamente. Puedes enviarlos todas las veces que quieras, hasta que llegue la fecha límite (el lunes por la mañana).
Y hoy acabo de hacer el primer “examen” (tipo test). Para éste sí hay un tiempo límite: una vez que lo abres, tienes algo más de una hora para hacerlo, y sólo se tiene en cuenta la nota de la primera vez que lo presentes. No me ha ido mal. Ahora, como cuando estudiaba, ¡¡¡a tomar la cerveza de después de los exámenes!!! 🙂

I’m not sure why but this blog is loading extremely slow for me.

I was curious if you ever thought of changing the page layout
